As final debate looms, Hillary Clinton opens widest lead yet over Donald Trump

Donald Trump's worsening position in the polls was sparked by his poor performance during the first presidential debate and has been sustained by a torrent of problems dogging his campaign — including the emergence of allegations of inappropriate behaviour or sexual assault from about a dozen women.

Tonight's third and final presidential debate may be Trump's last opportunity to turn things around. And it's women — for whom Trump says he has "great respect" — who might just be the most significant obstacle to his White House ambitions.

  2. If Clinton is elected, hopefully PM Trudeau will be able to maintain an independent line on foreign policy for Canada. Chretien standing against the Iraq war was a great moment.

  3. Very interesting that Clinton seems to be the first Democrat presidential candidate in quite a long time to poll even with men.

My earlier thoughts that Clinton in the first debate was significantly more appealing to undecideds while Trump had no appeal outside his base seems to be holding, but now you point out that he's driven away 2 points of his support since the first debate.

  5. Peter,

Clinton won't win this election. In fact, Trump lost it tonight. It's Trump who went out of his way to kill Trump.

Trump lost the first debate and it has only got worse since Ron.

  6. Peter,

To put it another way: when Hillary wins, it won't be because she substantially moved the dial. Rather, it will be because The Donald acted like such a doofus from the Get-go...
